Fitting fitness into a busy schedule....seems impossible, right? ...WRONG! Between work, school, kids, spouse, chores and errands...no wonder people say the number one reason for not getting exercise is because there is just no time. Unless you have a gym right around the corner from your house, most people just don't have the time to fit in a gym routine. This is understandable! However, fitting fitness into a busy schedule can be easier than you think!
I have been reminded lately of the importance of maintaining a healthy balance in life. There are countless forces and influences that must be recognized and taken into consideration when you begin your journey to finding your healthy balance. So what is a healthy balance?
Are sleep and weight loss correlated? Absolutely! How much sleep do you usually get? Did you know that getting less sleep will give you more maintain days and slower losses?? Sleep is critical to our brains and bodies to work on a functional level. The Seven Pillars of Health book by Don Colbert, MD outlines sleep and rest in chapter two. I'm just going to go over the important parts to outline the chapter for you.
Go Thank yourself! Its funny that we save one day out of the year to celebrate thankfulness. We do this by taking a day off work, cooking massive amounts of food, we gather around in large groups of family and friends and gorge on food we might not eat but once a year. We then laze around the rest of the day complaining that we ate too much, then we start again on left overs. Some of us eat so much that in all reality we should be thankful that its over because we ate ourselves sick!
Yesterday, I found myself in a state of grace, but only now do I really think I understand what that means. It wasn't the best of mornings. I had just poured my first cup of coffee when I received an unexpected phone call. It started out fine, but when I uncovered that the caller had an underlying motive, it hurt me in a way that I didn't quite expect. It wasn't what this person had called about that hurt me, it was realizing that what was said before I discovered...
