- The Grace and Strength Lifestyle
- Inspirational

I have been reminded lately of the importance of maintaining a healthy balance in life. There are countless forces and influences that must be recognized and taken into consideration when you begin your journey to finding your healthy balance.
So what is a healthy balance?
Healthy
- Enjoying health and vigor of body, mind, and spirit
- Prosperous, flourishing
- Implies full strength and vigor as well as freedom from signs of disease
- Wholesome; appearance and behavior indicating soundness and balance
Balance
- To bring into or keep in equal or satisfying proportion or harmony
- Taking everything into consideration; all in all
- The difference in magnitude between opposing forces and influences.
Many individuals struggle to find a life's healthy balance that works for them and gives them the peace of mind knowing they are living their lives in the best way possible. There are many facets involved in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Those facets are then magnified when you throw balance into the equation. Amongst those facets are your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health and well being.
Physical Balance – A healthy lifestyle is all about eating right, working out and sleeping well. To a great degree, these activities determine our overall physical well-being.
Mental Balance - Mental fitness helps us to achieve and sustain a state of good mental health. When we are mentally healthy, we enjoy our life and environment, and the people in it and we are able to get on with and enjoy our lives once again.
Emotional Balance – Emotionally healthy individuals are able to lead a productive and enjoyable life, despite having the odds against their favor. They are less likely to fall prey to depression, anxiety and panic attacks in times of adversity. Being emotionally stable implies that you will be able to bounce back in life, irrespective of a situation you are in, and are able to enjoy life to the fullest.
Spiritual Balance – Becoming spiritually balanced takes conscious effort. A lack of true commitment and discipline keeps us spiritually weak and out of shape. Those who neglect to study their Bible and pray become spiritually weakened and prey to the enemy. Those who faithfully put forth the effort to spiritually exercise reap great benefits.
Sometimes we can push ourselves too hard trying to achieve an objective and become almost obsessed while losing our balance that is oh so important in this life. If we become too focused and driven to achieve any one goal, we risk neglecting other important aspects of our lives and will likely see the deterioration of our spiritual, emotional and psychological conditions.
The goal should be to find that healthy balance in your overall health that then, and only then allows you to walk in the true freedom God created you to walk in.
