I am very happy that I choose Grace and Strength Lifestyle as my weight loss plan. I have always exercised but this was my first diet. Over the last 10 years I had slowly gained an extra 49 lbs. and this year began avoiding pictures and I hardly recognized my face in the mirror. My back began to hurt in the mornings and when I bent over and I assumed it was because I was now in my 30's, and that's what happens when you turn 30! I started complaining about myself, the way I looked, and felt. I'm usually not a complainer and the fact that I was doing that probably bothered me more than anything else. I decided it was time to do something about my weight.
I had seen the transformation Lindsay, my coach, went through on Facebook. Seeing a "real" person go through and accomplish her goal rather than a random commercial on TV was much more inspiring to me than anything else. I also appreciated that the Grace and Strength Lifestyle had us dig a little deeper into ourselves, our relationship with food, and most importantly, our relationship with God.
I have been blessed to have so many friends and family encouraging me through this. Though the journey was tough I expected it to be much more so. Prayer, accountability, and having other things to focus on allowed me to grow and reach my goal. I have gained more confidence and after my first 20 lb. loss my back pain disappeared. Jogging is now so much easier and enjoyable than it has ever been and I will run my first 5K this December.
I have been asked many times what I have done to lose the weight and I am always happy to share with them the plan that I believe in and that I can say will really work.
