- The Grace and Strength Lifestyle
- Inspirational

While on the Grace and Strength program, one of the most important lessons I learned was realizing how important drinking water is. The recommended water amount is half your body weight in ounces each day. I remember thinking that was crazy! I always thought I drank enough water. I found out that, in reality, I wasn't. Here are some ways drinking water will help your body:
- Skin texture, I noticed that I would have less break outs and that my skin seemed more soft and not as dry.
- Maintain digestive health...without getting too descriptive I just noticed that my body was more flushed :)
- Helped with weight loss: by removing by-products of fat, reduces eating intake (by filling up your tummy if consumed prior to meals), reduces hunger (hello natural appetite suppressant!), raises your metabolism and has zero calories!
- Water is still cheaper than any calorie packed soda or fruit base drink.
Drinking that much water can be challenging at first, but your body will quickly begin to thank you. In fact, you'll find that you actually begin to crave the water in place of the unhealthy items that you've been craving!
As I began to hydrate my body and see the positive results, I also learned a lesson in my faith.
Psalm 42:1-2 states, "As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?"
While my body learned to crave water, I was also learning to quench spiritual, emotional, and psychological thirsts though prayer and spending quality time with my heavenly Father.
I found that just like my body began coming fully alive through proper nutrition, my Spirit also began to come fully alive. Instead of viewing prayer and devotion as a chore, I found myself craving His presence more and more.
My prayer and hope for each of you today is that you will find the strength and desire to continue this life-changing journey. Stay hydrated, both physically and spiritually.
Love,
Coach Monica
