What does your next 30 or 90 days look like?
The answer to that question will most likely be a direct reflection of what you think about on a daily basis. As it moves from one thing to another, your mind will always come back to what you spend the most of your time focusing on, like a home base, if you will. So shouldn't it be something positive and constructive?
"Continual self development is not an option, it's inevitable."
We can let ourselves be molded by the people around us but at the end of the day, don't you want to be in the driver's seat of your own life? It's our responsibility to set the tone of every precious day we have been blessed with. If we don't, we risk getting caught in the trap of complacency. When we have a plan, it acts as a map you can refer to, making sure you're on track throughout your course of action.
Successful people ask, "What is the single most important thing I could do to improve my life in the next 90 days?"
For some, it would be creating a health plan, finishing a degree, or maybe starting a new activity. That "one" thing you've been putting off, but never fails to linger in your head, lingers for a reason. Whatever that "one" thing is, I encourage you to conquer it. Here are some tips to help you develop that "one" thought into an action.
- As a life coach, I tell people that once they decide on a self improving plan, the next step is to ask, WHO can I follow? There is always someone out there to learn from, who is doing or has done what you want to do and can teach you about the subject your interested in. Remember, you're building a foundation to improve, which will help you take yourself to the next level. However, behavioral changes are inevitable to get where you want to go.You can't change anything by using the same perspective or routine you have now.
- We often make the mistake of thinking we can achieve new results just wanting to, but the reality is, it's impossible to get a different result by doing the same thing, it's just simple science. As intimidating as that may sound, it's not as difficult as you think. The best way to start is a change in your morning ritual, and you can move on from there. Also, creating a theme for yourself will help you really embody what you're trying to accomplish.
- "Studies show that the most successful people get ALL of the important elements of their everyday life done by noon. If not done by noon, the chances of those personal tasks being accomplished takes a dramatic down fall. So to avoid that from setting you back, time block your schedule one week at a time.
- Set appointments with yourself and don't break them or be late. One accomplishment every 90 days can have a dramatic effect for just this year alone, not to mention for your future.
