Food Freedom - The Power to Say 'Yes' or 'No'
One of the areas we constantly stress here at The Grace and Strength Lifestyle is the idea of freedom. Freedom to say, YES! to yourself, and NO! to the destructive, self-sabotaging habits we’ve allowed to control us over the years.
Over the last few weeks we've worked to implement values and priorities into our lives and schedules so we can live more balanced and ultimately, more free lives.
1 Cor. 6:12 says, "All things are profitable to me, but not all things are beneficial, I will not be brought under the master of ANY."
I constantly have to ask myself the question of what is good versus what is best. As a grown woman I have the "freedom" to eat whatever I want, even if it’s a whole cheesecake. HOWEVER, I have to ask myself, "Am I in control of this choice?"
In other words, could I walk away from this decision if I wanted to? If the answer is, no, then I am under the power of the cheesecake, the chips, the (insert food nemesis here).
That place is not healthy living and that place is not freedom. Our goal is to get to a place where we are not disappointed with the choices we’ve made at the end of the day. Freedom is saying YES, but it is also recognizing that we have the freedom to say NO as well.
